1.INTRODUCTIONThis document defines the current and planned software and hardwarerequirements that a BCAG supplier's CAD/CAM computing system must meet touse BCA CATIA native datasets as authority for configuration control, design, manufacturing and inspection. This document also defines procedures fornotifying BCAG suppliers of changes to CATIA software prior to installation.1.1ScopeThe requirements of this document apply to all BCA program participants, suppliers and subcontractors for 737, 747, 757,767, 777 and 787. This applies toall program participants, suppliers and subcontractors for use of BCA CATIA nativedatasets as authority for design, manufacturing and inspection. These requirements are intended as a supplement to D6-51991. Other programdocumentation may exist concerning a specific airplane program; this documentdoes not supersede any program specific requirements.Additional requirements may be levied upon suppliers doing Engineering Designwork for BCA for a particular Program / Project. These requirements are additionsto the minimum requirements represented in this document and are theresponsibility of the receiving engineering / operations organization per D6-51991and negotiated through the BCA Supply Management Procurement contractingfocal, PA (Procurement Agent). This document is intended for supplier/partner participants supporting BCAprograms using CATIA V4 and CATIA V5 tools.5AJD6-56199

2.CURRENT SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE REQUIREMENTSFOR BCA CATIA AUTHORITY DATATo receive and use CATIA authority datasets, suppliers must have the Current orhigher BCA CATIA V5 Software Configuration. If they are a CATIA Authoritysupplier they are required to load a compatible CATIA V5 image. If required thatmay include some hardware considerations, as noted by BCA. It may alsorequire loading of BCA V4 Project Files in CATIA V4 (if active at supplier site) orin CATIA V5 for authority use of V4 Data. For suppliers / partners that have Design Authority, and send CATIA datasets toBCA, their CATIA needs to be the current BCA CATIA V5 Software Configuration(Cannot be higher).2.1CATIA Version Requirements and Limitations (V5)The current BCA V5 CATIA version is V5-6R2018SP6HF6 for use at suppliersites.Suppliers receiving released CATIA data from the approved data repositoriesmay use this data as product Authority with approval by Supplier Quality andusing the current production version of CATIA.BCA Program Partners loading the Boeing Dassault Image of CATIA/ENOVIAmust operate level V5-6R2018SP6HF6 or higher to maintain interoperability withBCA ENOVIA complex.2.2CATIA Version Requirements and Limitations (V4)BCA has Retired CATIA V4 as an authoring system for Engineering Product Data.CATIA V4 was retired on December 21, 2012The last BCA CATIA V4 version Boeing has installed to its production system isV4R2.4 Refresh 1, for suppliers on AIX, HP, SGI and Sun.V4 systems hardware must be capable of accommodating the following operatingsystems/platforms: IBM AIX, HP, SGI and/or SUN.BCAG has validated the HP, SGI and SUN platforms for data transfer. Suppliersmay synchronize their systems with BCAG if they use the HP, SGI and SUNplatforms, for use of BCAG data per D6-51991. Suppliers wishing to load BCAGapplications on other than AIX platforms will find that there are additionalrequirements for their use and are not supported. BCAG will not assume anyresponsibility for porting BCAG applications to alternate platforms for supplier use.6AJD6-56199

2.3CATIA Workstation Code Page RequirementFor Suppliers that still receive CATIA V4 data and operate a V4 installation thefollowing applies.Use of code pages is recommended for AIX and required for HP, Sun and SGIplatforms. BCAG utilizes the ISO8859-1 Code Page; suppliers may choose touse another code page.Note: Data transferred to a Code Page system may lose some charactermapping. MVS only special characters will be replaced by underscores onsystems using the ISO8859-1 code page. Boeing will start distributing data inthe ISO8859-1 code page in the near future, suppliers / partners will benotified before the transition takes place.2.3.1 CATIA Program Temporary Fixes (PTFs)BCA no longer maintains a PTF list for CATIA V4.2.3.2CATIA Hot Fix requirement (ENOVIA LCA) currently isV5-6R2018SP6HF6.(Boeing/Partner information only)2.4Methods to Notify Suppliers of Additional Installations of PTFsa.2.5BCA will no longer provide PTF information.Supplier Project File SynchronizationV4 Project files are available for supplier use on their V5 installations. Supplierswanting to use Boeing CATIA V4 data on their CATIA V5 machines shouldrequest a copy (Formatted for CATIA V5) of the Boeing V4 project files.Request should be submitted through their procurement agent or supplier qualityrepresentative to GRP SM EDG DISTRIBUTION [email protected] .2.6CATIA Version 4 Product Requirements(See Appendix A for V4 Product Information)7AJD6-56199

2.7Authorization for V5 Tool Suite at Suppliers/Design PartnersThis section lists the BCA ENOVIA DMU P1/LEV, CATIA V5 and ENOVIA LCAconfigurations that were installed in the Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) productionenvironment on December 2, 2013.The BCA NW CAD/CAM PDM Systems group has tested and evaluated ENOVIADMU P1, CATIA V5 P2 and ENOVIA LCA for usability and accuracy. Thesoftware has been reviewed by the BCA Information Systems Architecture groupand named by the Engineering Process Council as the Boeing standard forviewing, creating and storing CATIA data for manufacturing and inspection on theWindows 10 platform with the following conditions:a. ENOVIA DMU P1, CATIA V5 P2 and ENOVIA LCA, all at V5-6R2018, willoperate on Windows 10 workstations that comply with software systemrequirements.b. Data can be transferred only according to the accepted data transferprocedures, and data limitations as listed below as approved by the SupplyManagement & Procurement organization.Note: The Boeing Company has accredited ENOVIA DMU, CATIA V5 and ENOVIALCA at the V5-6R2018 level, on Windows 10 for production. All Boeingapplications are supported on Windows 10 only.Data Limitations:Data must be processed from a BCA release repository or be processed byapproved data management organizations, Master Dimension Lofting, QualityAssurance or other organizations as defined by BCA Project/Tool Engineering.V4 MBD Data must have been created with CATIA V4R1.9 or higher utilizingFunctional Dimensioning and Tolerancing (FD&T).
